Plinth House is a private villa in Kuwait shaped around calm architecture, natural materials and a precise relationship with the sea. The residence is grounded by a sculpted travertine base, while soft interior volumes, handmade surfaces and filtered daylight create a quiet domestic rhythm.
The project brings architecture, interior design and landscape into one continuous language. Exterior terraces, arched arrival spaces, family rooms and private suites are connected through material restraint, curved geometry and carefully integrated technical systems.

Plinth House
Plinth House is conceived as a quiet residential retreat by the sea. A carved stone base anchors the villa to the site, while the upper volume remains calm, minimal and deliberately restrained.
Because the house is designed for daily family life, the plan balances generous social rooms with private, softer spaces. Natural clay, travertine, brass, zellij and bespoke joinery create warmth without visual noise.
Landscape and Exterior Design
The exterior is planned as a sequence of shaded moments. Terraces, canopies, stairs and planting extend the house outward, so movement between interior and landscape feels continuous.
Custom outdoor elements reinforce the architectural identity of the villa. As a result, the exterior feels crafted rather than assembled from standard details.
Ground Floor Arrival
The ground floor begins with a composed arrival sequence. Arches, columns and high openings set a measured rhythm, while filtered daylight reveals the texture of the clay walls.
The entrance is not treated as a corridor. Instead, it becomes a calm threshold that introduces the scale, material palette and atmosphere of the whole residence.
Kitchen, Atrium and Social Spaces
The living, dining and kitchen areas are designed for gathering. Curved walls guide movement, while stone counters, brass details and integrated lighting give the rooms a quiet sense of weight.
At the center of the plan, the atrium brings daylight deep into the home. Therefore, circulation becomes part of the daily experience rather than a purely functional route.
First Floor Family Spaces
The first floor acts as a softer family level. Rooms are connected by framed views, gentle color shifts and precise transitions between open and enclosed areas.
Each space has its own identity, yet the overall language stays consistent. This keeps the project serene while still allowing moments of color and personality.
Master Suite and Private Rooms
The private rooms continue the same design principles with a quieter tone. Wardrobes, vanity areas, bathrooms and bedroom spaces are arranged as connected sequences rather than isolated rooms.
Clay finishes help soften the interiors and support comfort. Meanwhile, bespoke furniture and refined fixtures add function without interrupting the calm architectural expression.
Second Floor Bathrooms
The bathrooms use natural surfaces, soft light and compact detailing to keep the private areas peaceful. Handmade tiles, clay walls and integrated storage make the rooms practical while preserving visual calm.
Sustainability and Wellbeing
Sustainability is part of the architectural concept. Solar energy, water recovery, efficient climate systems and passive shading strategies reduce demand while improving comfort.
Natural cork insulation, mineral boards, clay renders, handcrafted zellij and durable stone support a low-impact material strategy. Together, these decisions make Plinth House a residential project shaped by wellbeing, longevity and restraint.
